Frequently Asked Questions
Drivio isn't recording my drives. What's wrong?
Drivio needs "Always Allow" location permission and Motion & Fitness access to detect trips in the background. Open iOS Settings → Drivio and confirm both are enabled. If location is set to "While Using the App," background trip detection will not work.
How do I create a Journey?
Open the Trips tab, tap Select, choose the drives you want to group together, then tap Create Journey. You can name the journey, add memory pins, and attach photos at any time.
Why are some of my photos missing from a Journey?
Drivio matches photos to journeys based on timestamps and location metadata in your Photos library. Photos without location data, or taken outside the trip's time window, won't be matched automatically. You can add them manually from the Journey edit screen.
How does Live Share work? Who can see my location?
Live Share lets friends or family follow your live trip. You can share in one of two ways:
- Public link — Drivio generates a shareable URL. Anyone with the link can view your location while sharing is active. The link expires automatically when the trip ends, or at a time limit you choose.
- Private sharing — only the Apple ID accounts you invite can view. Invitees see your location only while the session is active.
In both modes, Drivio uses Apple's CloudKit; location data lives only in your iCloud and is removed when the share ends. Drivio has no server and cannot see shared location data itself. (Pro feature.)
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Drivio. To cancel: open the Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → select Drivio → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for your Drivio purchase.
How do I export or back up my trips?
Pro subscribers can enable iCloud sync from in-app Settings → iCloud Backup. Your trip data is stored in your personal iCloud account. Individual journeys can be exported as posters from the Journey detail screen.
Will Drivio drain my battery?
Drivio uses iOS's significant-location and motion APIs, which are highly battery-efficient. Typical impact is under 3% per day. The app does not run continuously in the background — iOS wakes it only when motion suggests a drive may be starting.
Does Drivio work without an internet connection?
Yes. Trip detection and recording work fully offline. Internet is only required for iCloud sync (Pro) and Live Share (Pro).
